This winter classic gets a fiery makeover with the bold heat of Wiri Fire, blending seamlessly into the savory meat and creamy potatoes.

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tsp Wiri Fire Hot Sauce (or more to taste)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the topping:

  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk. Season to taste.
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and carrots, sauté 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, Wiri Fire Hot Sauce, broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  5. Spread meat mixture in a baking dish, top with mashed potatoes, and smooth evenly.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and bubbling. Broil for 2 minutes at the end if you like a crispy top.

Pro Tip: Add some sharp cheddar to the mashed potatoes for a cheesy finish.
